ФОРМА

JOMO

JOMO is an abbreviation of “joy of missing out”, which could be interpreted as the concept of abandoning the internet and technology without compunction. The JOMO burger cafe seems to be ironic about its surroundings and context: space is located in a bustling area, full of office workers and students.

Rejecting the trivial representation of burger cafes, ФОРМА created a holistic clean space, disposed of unnecessary decoration. The interior of JOMO illustrates the principle of “less means more”, where every detail has a meaningful function. Technological steel facade is supplemented by glass revolving doors, which can be opened in the warm season, connecting the inside rooms and the open space. A significant part of the decoration consists of metal elements, which become visual accents and provide zoning at the same time. On both sides of the entrance there is a kitchen with a bar and a cylinder with a bathroom made of stainless steel.

Selected materials present an unobvious connection with nature. Wood paneling, fine-grained stones, which decorate the columns, are shared by polycarbonate wall cladding. The surprisingly modern sound of these elements creates a balanced sense of space. The furniture refers to the aesthetics of roadside cafes, while modern wallpapers and colored neon signs soften the rather strict style of the interior and translate the informality of the place.
