Guilty Wine Bar
Guilty wine bar is a proper place of wine connoisseurs, which is also giving a meaningful perspective on a healthy lifestyle. It was initially located at Vozdvyzhenka district, a new-fashioned area in Kyiv. A famous Adolf Loos’s bar in Vienna was considered as a reference for the project, with its technique of creating the illusion of the space and providing a rhythm of patterns by covering with mirrors the whole width of the wall above the bar and the ceiling. The same method was applied at Guilty in order to expand the interior and suggest a glimmering spaciousness. The front wall is made of cardboard tubes to store a myriad of wine bottles and give another challenge to the perception of the space. Guilty wine bar was conceived as a place to start the evening, and the exhibition program, curated by Maria Lanko and Liza German, extended this conception into the context of art. Drafts and sketches by local artists, such as Lucia Ivanova and Ksenia Hnylytska, gave an alternative view on the idea of the origin and preparation.
